Control measures for peace of mind.
Following a Legionella risk assessment it is key to set-up control measures, including hot & cold water monitoring programmes. A ‘written scheme’ will provide the information on the areas of concern and how to control the risk.

What do hot & cold water monitoring programmes involve?
A hot & cold water monitoring programme in-line with the Technical Guidance HSG:274 includes temperature monitoring, showerhead cleaning, TMV maintenance, calorifier inspections and cold-water tank inspections amongst other items.
A data repository is gathered and kept for at least 5 years. This proves the effectiveness of the programme and provides evidence for any audits from the Health & Safety Executive.
